We are looking for Field Interviewers to work on the Residential Energy Consumption Survey. RECS is the Energy Information Administrationâs vehicle for collecting data about how energy is being used in the residential sector of the country. The purpose of the survey is to collect information from the household itself for policy planning and forecasting energy consumption. We offer flexible, non-traditional work hours. Opportunities are available throughout Alaska.An opportunity to work on an important, national research project. Temporary employment with hourly pay and retirement benefits, subject to eligibility. Required SkillsIn addition to meeting specific job requirements, employees hired for this position must present evidence of their identity and authorization to work in the United States (I9 documentation) and must undergo a background check. Also required are: a valid drivers license, proof of auto liability insurance and unlimited use of an automobile in good working condition; a working home phone number; ability to carry a laptop computer and survey documents and supplies, and availability to attend in-person, paid training sessions (no exceptions).Required ExperienceMust be organized, an active listener, and detail-oriented.Interviewers are expected to work productively and efficiently. We expect 25-30 hours each week, a minimum of 3-4 nights a week (5pm-9pm) and at least one weekend day. Lengthy time (longer than one week) off will not be allowed during the first 8 weeks without approval of both the administrative Regional Manager and Field Project Manager prior to staffingThe field period begins in February 2010 and runs for approximately seven months.Must have reliable transportation with required insurance coverage as well as a good driving history.Must sign a release allowing a background check and Motor Record Vehicle check and complete security clearance procedures which include fingerprinting.Training time and expenses are paid by NORC.Interviewers must complete a 4 hour Home-study and turn in a written exercise upon arrival at training.
