Senior Product Manager – Yahoo! Personals
Yahoo! Personals is the most-visited online dating service provider in the US. We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to drive strategic product development initiatives for Yahoo Personals, with an emphasis on funnel development, customer segmentation and premium services. As the owner of critical Yahoo! Personals product lines and strategic initiatives, the Senior Product Manager will lead the definition of product strategy and the development of our core product and new product extensions for Yahoo! Personals. This is a great opportunity to develop and lead new business and product initiatives that expand our audience base, increase conversion rates, and maximize customer lifetime value. We are looking for someone with great product management skills, who also has solid business analysis experience from a product development perspective, and excels at partnering with Business Development, Marketing, Design and Engineering to drive business results.
Responsibilities:
*Conduct competitive analyses and identify areas for product differentiation
*Develop a comprehensive segmentation and premium service strategy including the building of business cases for investment opportunities
*Collaborate with Business Development, Marketing, Design, Engineering, Business Operations, and the rest of the Product Management team to size and prioritize enhancements, translate them into MRDs/PRDs, and drive projects to completion
*Evaluate new technologies to constantly improve the user experience
*Aggressively identify opportunities for improvement, and incorporate new product features on an ongoing basis
*Define, track and improve key product metrics and develop tests to optimize business levers.
*Think through every aspect of the user experience, putting users’ needs and expectations first in the definition of requirements while differentiating the product
*Build positive relationships and trust over time through strong on-time delivery, high quality output, continuous innovation, and exceeding expectations
Skills & Qualifications
*Outstanding strategic, analytical and statistical skills – demonstrated ability to take data, draw insights, develop recommendations for feature enhancements, design improvements, and marketing programs
*5-8 years of software product management in consumer web environments with a focus on user conversion, retention and monetization
*Good understanding of and/or experience with some of the following:
- Registration and payment systems
- Business intelligence software
- Front-end (Client and Web) technologies (e.g., PHP, DHTML, AJAX)
*Excellent organizational, written and oral presentation skills
*Expertise creating detailed yet readable requirement documents for complex products and applications
*Superior communication skills and proven success in building relationships and collaborating with a variety of personalities on cross-functional teams
*BA/BS required. MBA or MS highly desirable
