Overview: The Trading Desk is a new unit within Omnicom Media Group, chartered to transform the way in which we buy display advertising for our clients.
OMG Trading Desk launched in 2009, developing partnerships with leading advertising exchanges, demand-side buying platforms, advertising networks, publishers, and data providers.
Trading Desk is looking for talented account management candidates with experience in digital media and/or search marketing, excellent account servicing skills, strong analytical and data enabled problem solving abilities, comfort taking risks and an entrepreneurial spirit that will allow them to be successful in a dynamic start-up culture.
Role & Responsibilities: The Director of Foundation Accounts role is to provide the highest level of leadership on a clients business.
Our Foundation accounts are those with expressly defined spending and growth objectives that require a consistent level of management and maintenance of their campaigns.
The optimal candidate will have an expertise in all digital media principles and apply them to defining, planning and executing against a clients business objectives.
A successful Director of Foundation Accounts must be an effective communicator and possess the ability to both work and lead a group of account managers and functional leads in analytics and reporting .
They must possess excellent active listening skills to understand client needs and translate those needs into trading objectives.
The Director of Foundation Accounts evaluates performance daily with their team to ensure client goals are met or exceeded.
The Director of Foundation Accounts must lead and foster a strong level of integration of the Trading Desk among all groups within OMD and partner Agencies.
This person is responsible for reporting progress and collaborating on trading tactics as well as providing campaign insights.
Director of Foundation Accounts reports into the VP, Trading and Client Services Responsibilities include: Client Servicing & Business Growth
Developing planning objectives and strategies that are in line with the clients marketing direction while continually seeking a consumer-centric view in all strategic thinking
Creating and maintaining solid client relationships including: strategy development, project management, report delivery, and client communication
Identifying organic areas of growth on existing accounts and leading efforts to capitalize on those opportunities
Interfacing with Business Development to actively identify and pursue new revenue souces for the Trading Desk and clearly set expectations, manage them closely, and exceed them constantly
Identifying and selling ideas internally — ranging from trading strategies to client managementTeam Managment
Communicating with the management team on account and group status in a professional manner befitting a senior level team member
Managing a team of Associate Directors/Supervisors in charge of Account Service, Optimization and Reporting and facilitating each team members development
Working closely with Trading Desk Analytics team to understand current performance and find opportunities to deliver better performance for clients
Documenting and communicating client and campaign milestones, deliverables and decision points, either with client teams or directly with clients
Broad understanding of the capabilities and limitations of the technologies we employ, including but not limited to, DFA, DFP and DART.
Playing an integral part in new product development and enhancements with our operations and analytics team.
Meeting regularly with client teams to review campaign performance, develop optimization recommendations and ensure campaign recommendations are implemented
Challenge the team to discover and articulate insights, not just facts
Keep abreast of industry trends (trade press, seminars, current events, etc.) that may impact a clients businessRequired Experience and Education:
Bachelors degree in: marketing, advertising, communications, engineering, mathematics or statistics.
Masters degree a plus
3 previous years of solid client service experience with proven track record of managerial roles
5-8 years of work experience, with recent managerial experience in search, online advertising or related fields.
Previous experience in digital media/DR management, search or marketing on a director level.
Working understanding & experience with Paid Search and Display (Banner Advertising); expanded experiences in broader media channels (broadcast, print, OOH, etc.) a plus
Strong advanced knowledge of Microsoft software tools including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Advanced understanding and experience with Ad Trafficking (DoubleClick specific) a plusRequired Skills:

Exceptional ability to use data to solve problems and understand campaign performance; analytical thinker and processor
Strong presenter and communicator, able to develop powerful presentations, POVs and articulate in a confident manner
Attention to detail in a multi-tasking, fast-paced business environment with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
Account management, including demonstrated excellence in managing and prioritizing multiple projects in a client-service business
Data analysis in Excel, including Pivot Tables & basic statistics.
Experience with SPSS, SAS, Cognos, Business Objects or other BI & statistical toolsets a plus.
Strong organizational navigation able to manage and prioritize multiple projects and work well with a matrixed organization
Strong business acumen demonstrated ability to be forward-thinking and innovative while understanding client needs and the limitations of our business processes and technologies
