You should have significant experience in Business Intelligence, both application and theory, with a demonstrated strength in the Cognos toolset, including Query Studio, Report Studio, Metrics Studio, Framework Manager, and/or other major Cognos components.

Experience in installation and configuration of these products in Windows and Linux environments is desired.

You should be comfortable working within an Oracle environment and well versed in SQL and PL/SQL.

Experience working in Higher Education is highly valued.In addition to Cognos, the primary SunGard Higher Education products you will work with are an Operational Data Store (ODS) and an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), part of the Banner Performance Reporting Analytics (BPRA) product suite.

The assignment breakdown would be as follows (estimated):
60% – Training client users on the effective use of Cognos reporting tools, such as Query Studio, Report Studio, Framework Manager, and Transformer in the ODS/EDW environment
25% — Installation and configuration services for new clients
15 % – Custom report developmentPosition Requirements: Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience: Bachelors Degree, preferably in computer science or a related field.

The successful candidate has the ability and initiative to research and solve problems independently, while collaborating and communicating effectively with colleagues; to learn quickly and apply standards and best practices, and to learn new products or product enhancements.

Prior experience with SunGard Applications is preferred.

Oracle experience; Strong command of SQL
Significant experience with business intelligence (BI) and data warehouse (DW) solutions
Experience working within an Administrative or Information Technology department of a college or university
Familiarity with multidimensional database (MDDB) and star schema data structures
Experience with ETL tools such as Oracle Warehouse Builder or Data Transformation Services (DTS)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience delivering training and/or presentations
Ability to work independently and as part of a virtual team
Knowledge of one or more of the SunGard Higher Education Banner products
Experience designing and implementing reporting strategies
Experience developing and delivering consulting servicesDesired Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
Previous Project Management experience a plus.
