Part of our challenge within the marketing team is to gather data related to each product we sell, format that data to be consistent and useful for our customers, and deliver the data to our market to support the sale of our product.

This position requires experience with data management and technical writing.

Experience in Excel, Word, and other data management tools are essential to success as our technical writer.

Primary Objective: To review every product we manufacture and create consistently formatted short descriptions, long descriptions, sales copy, and upsell feature bullets.

Manage all data points for our products.

Some examples include product dimensions, UPC codes, descriptions, categorization, application databases, sales copy, special attributes, meta-tags & keywords, image files, installation instruction files, warranty PDFs, finish, pricing files, and many other characteristics.

Communicate with all internal departments (especially engineering, technical support, and sales) and outside sources to research and gather product information.

Pull information from word documents, catalogs, Excel, Sequel, PDFs, websites, and any other available source.

Then communize the information and populate product tables so we can provide data load sheets to our customers in common formats that work with their systems (ex.

Excel, XML, Text Delimited, etc).

Write articles for website blogs, TV commercials, national magazine articles & ads. These articles will work to promote a product and/or build our name brand strength.

Compose monthly new product releases.

This includes assembling a bi-weekly newsletter, mass e-mails, and web postings.

Manage website and catalog text content to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of all product related information.As you can see, this is an extensive list of responsibilities and it will take a person with a lot of previous experience in key areas to qualify.
