TELEPHONE OPERATOR (E/N/D-8HRS) SWITCHBOARD: Grady Health System

DESCRIPTION: Duties are to answer and route all incoming calls to requested areas (unless restricted by Grady health Systems Policy) and locate personnel and house staff by public address system, pocket pagers, cell phone, or other assigned devices.

Operator must provide excellent customer service to patients and staff by answering calls in a professional and warm manner.

Other duties include but are not limited to: facilitation of paging alerts for cardiac arrest (CODE BLUE) and fire codes (CODE RED); provision of physician on call schedule information; assistance to hospital personnel and patients with long distance calls; notification of severe weather reports; and overall general hospital information patient, families, staff physicians, and the community at large.

Past employment within a healthcare facility, and two years of experience in PBX/Switchboard environment preferred.
