Follow safety procedures and practices.

Interact with computer controlled equipment and processes.

Conduct basic quality inspection of work in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Experience working with Formal Documentation required.

Must be flexible to work night shifts (2 nd shift – 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM or 3 rd shift – 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM).

Description

The Scientist will assist in establishing a core therapeutic research focus for ocular diseases. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: establishing ocular retinal disease models (applied insults, transgenics, KO, etc.); setting up visual function testing capabilities including but not limited to ERG and visual acuity testing; ocular pharmacology and toxicology studies; coordinating projects with research organization and academic collaborators; data reporting; project management; and other duties as assiged or required.
Qualifications

PhD in Ophthalmology, Neurosciences, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related discipline is required.
Minimum of two (2) years post doctoral experience or two (2) years of industrial experience is required.
A minimum of three (3) years experience with in vivo ocular pharmacology studies in animal models of ocular disease is required.

Experience required in execution of pharmacology and ex vivo ocular pharmacology with ocular cells and tissues.
Must have experience in visual function analysis.
Working experience designing assays is required.

Good written and verbal communication skills required.
Ability and desire to work in a team-oriented environment is a must.
